###This section comes from my desire to become fluent in English, to share my journey with you, and to learn from your experiences and tips as well.
The idea behind my journey is based on a decision that is simple and complex at the same time:
Is it better to live or to talk about life?
Wait! I’ll explain.
We spend a good part of our lives receiving tons of information, most of which is useless. Rules upon rules, methods that don’t excite us or make a difference.
That probably made things even more complicated :). But now I’ll be more direct:
You can’t have your cake and eat it too. There’s also the saying that you can’t whistle and suck sugarcane at the same time. Many things in life fit this saying, and FLUENCY IN ENGLISH is no exception.
You can stick with traditional classes—textbooks, grammar, mechanical vocabulary drills, and translation (metalanguage: describing the language, talking about what life might be like if you were fluent)—or you can decide to set traditional techniques aside and look for innovative techniques that really work, that actually help us become fluent (the choice to live).
###In this section, I’ll share what I’ve learned on this journey until I become fluent, and I’ll also introduce one of the methods I’ve chosen to help me along the way: EFFORTLESS ENGLISH, created by Californian A.J., as well as any other methods I find interesting.
So, in addition to personal comments and posts, I’ll share translations directly from the Effortless English blog and from other blogs I find interesting.
To sum it all up: Enough with inefficient methods! Let’s look for something that really works, because life deserves to be lived intensely and fully. Why just talk about life when what really matters is living it to the fullest? In the same way, why try to learn all the details of grammar rules when what really matters is communication and interaction between people?
